MMS Image:
- The best format we suggest for MMS images is JPG
- The maximum file size is 500kb
- Recommended dimensions are at 640 pixels by 1138 pixels or 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels. (9:16 aspect ratio)
- There are certain iPhones that hide a certain portion of the top and bottom of your image in their “preview mode” which is how your recipient sees the image until they click on it. For this reason, do not include important information in the top 129 pixels or the bottom 89 pixels of your MMS image.
- If in case the image exceeds the size. You can always use free tools online to decompress a larger file size.
MMS Animated images:
- The best format to do is GIF
- The maximum file size is 500kb
- Recommended dimensions are 480 pixels x 480 pixels or 720 pixels high x 480 pixels.
- It does not display transparency on some devices
- Keep your GIF with a frame speed no faster than every second.
- Do not exceed 3-4 frames per second because you will encounter a choppier effect.
MMS Video:
- MMS video formats can be .MOV, h264/aac, or .MP4
- Maximum file size is at 500kb
- Recommends keeping videos to 20 seconds or less to make sure the majority of carriers receive them and phones display them.
- Try using 30 frames per second
- Recommended dimension, we suggest vertical (portrait) MMS videos at 640 pixels wide x 1,138 pixels high (16:9 aspect ratio). For horizontal (landscape) MMS videos, , we recommend a 1,280 pixels wide x 720 pixels high, (16:9 aspect ratio).
- We advise keeping the file short and small to ensure delivery. Since some of the people you are texting can be on a different carrier and each carrier has different maximum file sizes for videos.
- For longer videos that need to be sent, you can upload them to a free online file transfer site then just send the link to the video.
