How to Use the Send Invite Feature?

The Send Invite feature lets you manually send a workflow (like a survey, poll, or multi-step message flow) to your existing contacts. You can send the invite instantly or schedule it for a later time.

This is ideal when you’ve already collected subscriber phone numbers through:

  • Text-to-Join keywords
  • Web signup forms
  • Manual imports
  • Other SMS campaigns
     
⚠️ Important: A workflow must have a keyword assigned in order to push it to users using the Send Invite feature.

🧭 How to Send an Invite

1. Review Campaign Details

  • Campaign Name – The name of your workflow (auto-filled)
  • Keyword – The associated keyword users opted in with (auto-filled)

2. Choose Recipients

🔘 Enter Manually

  • Type mobile numbers directly, separated by commas
  • Example: 1234567890, 9876543210, 5551112222
  • Maximum 10 numbers at a time

🔘 Use Subscription List/Groups

  • Select one of your saved groups
  • Click the Manage Subscriber button to create or edit groups

3. Schedule the Invite

Choose when the invite should be sent:

  • Start Date
  • Start Time

🕓 This is helpful if you want to avoid off-hours or plan future sends.

4. Click “Next”

Click the red Next button to proceed and confirm your invite settings.

▶️ How to Send an Invite from a Workflow or SMS Polling Campaign

You can also trigger the invite directly from the workflow list.

✅ Steps:

  1. Go to Workflow & Rules from the left menu
  2. Select the workflow you want to invite contacts into
  3. Click the Send Invite icon
  1. This opens the Send Invite screen with the campaign already loaded
  2. Follow the steps above to select your recipients and schedule the invite

📜 Invite History

At the bottom of the Send Invite screen, you’ll see a list of all past invites:

  • Campaign Name & Keyword
  • Submitted Date & Time
  • Delivery Date & Time
  • Number of Contacts Invited
  • Subgroup (if any)
  • Progress and Status

Click Refresh to update the list with the latest delivery info.

✅ Example Use Case

You ran a campaign where parents texted EDUCATION to vote for their favorite teacher. Now you want to follow up with a second poll. Use the Send Invite option to trigger the next step for all participants — either manually or using a saved group.
